Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Your data belongs to you. GymTorch is built on a simple principle: the information you log stays yours, stays private, and is never used against you.

We do not sell your data. We do not run ads. We do not require you to create an account. This policy explains exactly what is collected, how it is used, and the control you have over it.

2. What We Collect

In-App Data

All workout data you enter — exercises, sets, reps, weight, RPE, notes — is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data.

Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you choose to enable Apple Health integration, GymTorch may read and write bodyweight data to your Health app. This data remains within Apple's infrastructure and is never transmitted to our servers. HealthKit data is never used for advertising or marketing purposes.

iCloud Sync

When iCloud sync is enabled, your workout data is stored in your private iCloud container, managed entirely by Apple under your Apple ID. GymTorch has no direct access to this data.

Crash Reports

If you have opted in to share diagnostics with developers via your iOS Settings, anonymised crash reports may be received through Apple's standard crash reporting infrastructure. These reports do not contain any workout data or personally identifiable information.

Website and Waitlist

If you submit your email address via the GymTorch waitlist, that address is stored securely via our mailing list provider. It is used solely to notify you when GymTorch launches. You can request removal at any time.

3. What We Do Not Collect

  • No account, no sign-in, no name required to use the app.
  • No location data of any kind.
  • No advertising identifiers or tracking pixels.
  • No behavioural analytics or third-party SDKs that profile you.
  • No data is sold, rented, or shared with advertisers.

4. How Information Is Used

The limited information we may receive is used exclusively for the following purposes:

  • To operate and improve the GymTorch app.
  • To diagnose crashes and fix software defects.
  • To send you a single launch notification if you joined the waitlist.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to any third party.

5. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal data with third parties, except where strictly required by law or to provide the service (for example, Apple's infrastructure for crash reports or iCloud). We do not use advertising networks, analytics brokers, or data resellers.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

All workout data is stored on your device. Deleting the GymTorch app removes all locally stored data permanently. If you use iCloud sync, you can also remove app data from your iCloud storage via iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage.

If you joined the waitlist and wish to have your email address removed, email us at support@gymtorch.app and we will remove it promptly.

7. Children's Privacy

GymTorch is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our waitlist, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

8. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of GymTorch after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
